The first MEDIUM conference will address sustainable urban development, local governance, innovation, industrial development and social inclusion with a specific focus on the city of Hangzhou.
Academics from China, France, Italy, Taiwan, Greece and Switzerland will discuss these topics from a multidisciplinary perspective. They will engage with decision-makers and stakeholders debating of relevant policies.
The conference will be the last event of year 1 of the MEDIUM project and will close the sequence of activities taking place in Hangzhou. It will also represent the opportunity for the four post-doctoral researchers currently benefitting from a mobility scheme to present their work.
This event follows a first seminar where academics presented an in depth analysis of Hangzhou socio-economic development path (November 2015), and a stakeholders’ workshop that looked at Zeijhiang Sci-tech city planning and its ecological impact (March 2016).
The conference will open on Friday June 24, with an event taking place in the New Hotel (West Lake area) and will continue on June 25 and 26 in Hangzhou Normal University Cangqian Campus.
The conference will be interpreted in English and Chinese.
